Lobo is that bolt action mag fed one is that a Marlin? we had one in 12 gauge 3" mag with a 40 or 44" barrel years ago, Dad bought it for a goose hunt in northern japan he did every year with some buddies. I think it was a marlin. Dad sold it to his best friend when they moved to hawaii.

There is no real absorption like if it had a recoil pad. Since it is a pump there is no recoil absorption in the function and since there is no recoil pad you are getting the full amount of recoil transferred to your body. I shoot lots of heavier recoiling rifles so it doesn't bother me but recoil is subjective so it is hard to give it a rating.
