    Sycamore Creek

Are there currently any shooting restrictions in the Sycamore Creek area off of Beeline Highway?
    Is that Tonto National Forest?
I know things are pretty dry right now but would like to get out before it's 180 deg!
    Thanks all!

Call the Tonto ranger station to get up to date information on shooting in the forest. Rumor is everything is pretty locked up right now, so your chances are not good.

pretty sure state, and fed land is all closed till sometime later in july, SIL is a ranger in tonto and they struggle each day with idiots not finding out the rules, and ins and outs, don't be on eof them, call them confirm, they will also share all other outings.
its summer, usual closure fan fare
    best of luck

    Thanks Guys!
I had a feeling this was the case. I did look at the Tonto National Forest closure maps yesterday but they are pretty crappy and not well marked so figured I'd check in here.
    Much appreciated!

You can check the land ownership using the Parcel Viewer linked from this page. Scroll down a bit and use the Arizona State Land Parcel viewer. It defaults to Arizona State Trust land but you can turn on a "land ownership" layer to see national forest, Indian reservations, BLM and others. Everything to the east of the Fort McDowell reservation is Tonto NF. [edit: there's a chunk of private land just east of the rez and north of 87 but I think it's mostly residential (goldfield ranch?)]

BLM is the yellow on the map but it looks like they implemented the no-shooting fire restriction at the same time as the NF.
