Anyone have any experience with a Marlin Papoose?
I found one, NIB, at a very attractive price.

I wanted one but wound up trading into a 10/22 take down.
Did find this: https://www.bigredsfirearms.com/review-marlin-papoose-70pss-take-down/

Thanks Larry.
I don't know why I think I need it. But it's never about "need" is it? :D

You might want to take a look at the Ruger.
It's really easy to use, lots of mags out there for it, comes with a very nice carry bag, and you're probably very familiar with the 10/22 platform.
And no, it's never really about the need. It's all about the fun of getting a new toy.
BTW, if you get the Papoose, please give us a real review. You never know, I might "need" another take-down .22 :D

I already have my "takedown Backpack/survival type weapon" covered multiple time over. I have 3x Springfield Armory M6 Scouts. Two original .22LR/410 and a CZ made one in .22 Hornet/410 so I can't see a need for a papoose (even though they are cool little packages). Hell, I also have an original Armalite manufacture (mixed plastic stock) AR7 if I wanted a takedown semi auto but I like my M6's better.

I had one for a while. It was OK but nothing special. The trigger was very stiff and gritty and as a result, accuracy was mediocre.
I have a Browning take-down SA-22 now. It’s a much nicer rifle. There’s really no comparison between the two.

between a ruger 1022 , my next fav is the model 60, accurate sob it is, i have a couple, and was trying to get a pony express del outta tucson on one to donate to a neighbor kid, to learn to shoot on. dind't happen so i picked up a ruger , gonna give it to his gramps to give the kid, hes helped me out some, wouldn't take a dime, so kids time is worth a lot to him, or will be later on when he figures it out.

They are magnificent animals, aren't they?
At least you still have fond memories to cherish.

Yeah.
So many dogs over the years, and that all go too soon and break my heart.
Yet I keep going back for more.
Far superior to most people.

I had a papoose. It was a very nice little takedown. Wish I still had it.
